Meet Our Violinists
Jonathan Liu
Jonathan Liu is a senior violinist at Seven Lakes High School, performing under the direction of Desiree Overree in the school varsity orchestra. He has been playing the violin for nine years, and currently studies with Dr. Jiang and Houston Symphony First Violinist, Scott Lao. He is a 4 year TMEA All-Stater and 7 year TMEA Region XXIII Symphony Violinist. Jonathan is also an active member of the Houston Youth Symphony.
Outside of orchestra, Jonathan is also a competitive soloist. Jonathan is a Music Doing Good $1,500 Gold Scholarship Awardee and a two-time Texas State Solo-Ensemble Contest Gold Medalist and Outstanding Performer. Jonathan has also played the Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor 3rd movement as a soloist accompanied by the Clear Lake Symphony Orchestra.

Rachel Kim is a violinist in the Seven Lakes Orchestras, under the direction Ms. Overree. She has been playing violin for seven years and studies under Michelle Choi. Rachel has participated in the Region 23 Symphony Orchestra for two years, and has also participated in the TMEA All-State Orchestras.

Aubrey Cui attends Seven Lakes High School, performing under the direction of Desiree Overree. He has been playing violin for four years and currently studies under Dr. Jiang. Aubrey has participated in TMEA’s Region XXIII Junior High Symphony Orchestra and has received multiple awards in the UIL Solo and Ensemble Competitions.

Aubrey has participated in TMEA’s Region XXIII Junior High Symphony Orchestra and has received multiple awards in the UIL Solo and Ensemble Competitions.
